This past weekend members of our team had the pleasure of completing there Ice Rescue Certification. Technicians must demonstrate the ability to perform in a environment that is ever changing. They practice rope throws, conscious and unconscious victim recovery, self rescue, multiple victim rescue, and using the MARSARS rescue shuttle among other techniques. In a area such as the one Stephenville search and rescue is responsible for with its many rivers, ponds, and lakes being proficient in skills such as these are integral to providing the best service possible to the public. The continued support from the public ,local business and community organizations¬† go towards training and equipping the ice rescue team.
